I have never understood the censoring of children's book because my parents read me the original Grimms and Edward Gorey's deadly alphabets when I was little. That's probably why I became a fairy tale illustrator, so that I can keep those 'controversial' books in children's hands.M.M.E.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09810117749263731836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110693669226983929.post-37180415611922925552010-04-05T13:38:07.466+01:002010-04-05T13:38:07.466+01:00Thanks all for the comments, and thanks for the in...Thanks all for the comments, and thanks for the info about those tales Eirin.
Best,
ClaireClaire Deanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12466995265143493376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110693669226983929.post-33277339000385391682010-04-05T04:35:06.495+01:002010-04-05T04:35:06.495+01:00Sorry, I'm a bit off topic here. This reminds me about the first edition of the norwegian fairytales og Asbjørnsen and Moe. It is a story very similar til Knight Bluebeard, called the The boyfriend in the woods. It was not published then, because it was to violent and horrible.

I also know a story from sami culture, where the children are playing slaughtering the reindeers.

Eirin - norwegian storytellerEirin Edvardsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09103344358112604486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110693669226983929.post-71267707352325683072010-04-01T11:15:47.828+01:002010-04-01T11:15:47.828+01:00Wonderful film, thanks for posting.
